Note: this is a draft page for the proposed Task Force. Please comment/suggest improvements and add your names... This is a Task Force under the Technology Stack Working Group. I'd like to present this to TSWG for official approval in their next meeting which should be 2 weeks from now normally, on May 30, but that's US Memorial Day holiday, so I'd expect a delay. Regardless, we like to use the next two weeks to finalize the charter, time of meetings, and most important of all, get all interested parties together. Because Metaverse/web3 is also emphasized, I've modified the name to reflect that.
Note: The AI & Metaverse Technology Task Force , or (AIM TF for short, has been officially approved by the ) is an approved task force of the ToIP Technology Stack Working Group (TSWG. This page has been updated to reflect that. Everyone is welcome to participate and contribute!).
Mission
The mission of TSWG AI & Metaverse Technology Task Force (AIM TF) is to complete a ToIP Recommendation create recommendations for the ToIP community to address opportunities and challenges brought on by advances in AI, Metaverse and related technologies in relation to ToIP's within the overarching ToIP mission of creating interoperable trust over the Internet.
...
Some of these themes were also discussed in the Internet Identity Workshop (IIW'34) April 26-28, 2022, in a talk given by Wenjing Chu "Identity in the Age of AI".
A Venn diagram conveniently outlines the scope of the Task Force's work.
The mission of this task force is to identify the issues brought on by these technology developments and provide a Recommendation recommendation for a roadmap of future work in ToIP. We plan to accomplish this accomplish this in two phases:
- The first phase is exploratory: to conduct survey studies to come to a common understanding of how the technologies of AI/Metaverse and Trust intersect & impact ToIP's current mission. The output can be one or more White Papers.
- The second phase is to synthesize an actionable Recommendation and/or White Papers for ToIP.
The two phases should not be seen as strictly serial of course. They will overlap as the Task Force feel ready to produce deliverables in some topics while continuing in exploring new areas. The following diagram illustrates the Task Force's work roadmap (reviewed in Dec 2022 and Jan 2023).
