Agenda & Notes

  1. Introduction of new members
  2. The Blockchain Governance Compass
    1. domain specific modeling language intended for students to use for describing blockchain based business ecosystems
    2. Work output for the Blockchain Research group of the Startup Lab at JYU
    3. Initially the need was to understand the use cases (from Findy members) leading to creating something similar to business model
    4. Actors, roles, business and technological aspects, legal and regulatory aspects were part of the first pass
    5. Domain-specific modeling helps capture domain knowledge (and not code); uses domain abstractions; helps narrow down the design space
    6. Iterative process (abstract syntax → concrete syntax –> semantics)
    7. A demo of the compass is available at the meeting recording (around 15 mins mark)
    8. Discussion of the building blocks for the BG Compass Language (see 20 mins mark) and future plans
      1. Modeling an example system - VON
      2. Looking for additional real world ecosystems to be modeled using the DSL
      3. Code generator aspect of the tool in the works
    9. Questions
      1. Salvatore D'Agostino is that language looking at the work in the W3C and its data privacy vocabulary https://dpvcg.github.io/dpv/ here is the GitHub repo https://github.com/dpvcg/dpv/
      2. Nicky Hickman Designing an ecosystem is tricky, did you consider Complex Dynamic Systems theory and including 'emergent properties' for example or interactions between ecosystems in your research?
  3. White paper Task Force
    1. Karen Hand there are 4 WPs in the works using GitHub flows. All the White papers are in Gate 2. Near term plans include using GitHub and the Project Board. When the entire paper is written outside of the GitHub eg. on Google Docs - how is the metadata synchronized when moved over to GitHub deliverables portal
  4. Introduction to IDUnion
  5. Announcement - please see email from Nicky Hickman and join the YOMA Ecosystem TF
